The Friends of Los Osos Library
has a tradition of creatively supporting our library and patrons, and in the process raising money to provide even more support for the library.
We also provide a great way to recycle donated books and magazines - a win-win for all!
Used Book Sales
Historically, our big events have been our used books sales, held four times a year in the library parking lot.
Our most recent book sale was in May of 2022. After that sale we began sorting the unsold items and disposing of items we cannot sell. We are not able to schedule another major book sale event until we have a new coordinator to take responsibility for managing donations and the sales.
The FOL Board has adopted the following Book Donation Policy to clarify the current situation:
we can not accept large donations of books or media.
We will continue to maintain the small Book Nook inside the library to sell recent adult and children's books and DVDs as long as we have appropriate donated materials. These should be in near perfect condition and no more than five years old.
Please contact us if you have a small donation you would like us to review to determine if the donations are appropriate for Book Nook sales. Large donations will not be accepted.

In the meantime, donations of gently used books continue to be accepted by the Friends of Morro Bay and Cayucos Libraries, as well as the Goodwill donation center in Los Osos.
For opportunities to purchase great books and other media at bargain prices, be sure to check out our FOL Book Nook inside the library! Books are displayed next to the north wall windows. We are more than pleased to present gently-used fiction and non-fiction books for all ages, as well as DVDs and occasional items such as jigsaw puzzles -- deals galore!

Magazine Sales
If you like an occasional magazine read, but don't want to spring for a subscription, we may have what you are looking for. Recent magazines are available for purchase at the library for 50 cents each.
